1 word or intention to focus on to inform our choices.
1 habit to build at a time.
1 question we ask God daily & listen for the answer.
1 faithful, messy step of action.
1 small moment of silence to sit with ourselves. 
1 thought we write in a journal.

Whatever it is.

There’s beauty and proud healing that happens in the simple choices.

Simple isn’t lazy.
Simple is profound.
Especially when it allows you to clear out the noise and start listening to yourself.

I’ve been reflecting on how many of you said ā€œ I’ve been reflecting on how many of you said ā€œyesā€ to your own healing this year.

Not because it was easy or always fun.

But because something in you knew it was TIME.

Time to prioritize yourself.

Time to grieve.

Time to get to know parts of you that you’d become disconnected from.

Time to be kinder to yourself.

Time to heal from trauma and pain.

Time to wrestle and live more authentically as yourself.

Time to connect more deeply in your relationships.

Time to let yourself be a messy human and be seen and supported.

And I just want to say:

I hope you’re PROUD of the progress you’ve made.
Because I’m proud of you.

And also, thank you.

Thank you for trusting me with your stories, your pain, your vulnerable moments, your mess, your bravery…all of it.

You’re not overthinking because you’re broken.
You’re overthinking because a part of you doesn’t feel safe.

In therapy, we don’t shame these patterns, we get curious about them.

Overthinking is often a protector.
It shows up when:
-You’re disconnected from what you feel
-You don’t fully trust yourself to make the ā€œrightā€ choice
-You haven’t had space to process the pain beneath the surface

It’s not just mental noise.
It’s a sign that something inside you needs care, not control.

Try these questions to get to know this over thinking part of yourself: 

šŸ«¶šŸ½ 1. ā€œWhat is this part afraid might happen if I don’t overthink?ā€
(This helps you understand its protective role. It’s not trying to sabotage you — it’s trying to shield you.)

šŸ«¶šŸ½ 2. ā€œWhat emotions might I be avoiding by staying in my head?ā€
(Let your body answer. Underneath might be sadness, grief, fear, or anger you haven’t had permission to feel.)

šŸ«¶šŸ½ 3. ā€œWhat would it feel like to trust myself, even just a little?ā€
(You don’t have to fully trust yet. Just start a relationship with the part of you that longs to.)

šŸ’­ Overthinking isn’t the problem, it’s just a signal.
Self-trust is built through being present with yourself, not through pressure.
And your feelings deserve to be felt, not ignored or dismissed.

I’ve used the term ā€œpeople pleaserā€ before…
and honestly, I still catch myself saying it at times.
But lately, it doesn’t sit right.
ā €
Because people-pleasing might be a pattern you’ve learned…
But it’s not your identity.
ā €
You’re not just a ā€œpeople pleaser.ā€
You’re a deeply caring, intuitive, relational human.
You notice needs. You hold space. You feel deeply.
ā €
That doesn’t mean something’s wrong with you.
It means you’ve adapted to get your needs met.

Because yeah, some of your patterns might lean toward over-giving, over-apologizing, over-functioning…
But those parts?
They’ve been trying to protect you.
Keep you connected. Keep the peace.
Earn love.

They’re not bad.
They’re tired.
And they need care, not shame.

For me that looked like being the helpful one.

Maybe for you it was being perfect.
Maybe for you it was being successful.
Maybe for you it was being unique.
Maybe for you it was keeping the peace.

Whatever the story is, it typically starts when we’re young and then bleeds into how we’re subconsciously showing up today.

It looks like people pleasing.
It looks like perfectionism.
It looks like anxiety.
It looks like difficulties sharing our needs.

It takes first recognizing those patterns to heal.

It’s also work we weren’t meant to do alone.

I love all the fun ideas and plans and things to do, but in this season it was starting to make me feel overwhelmed.

I’m choosing a different kind of summer bucket list.

One that isn’t filled with nonstop plans, but with presence.

One that isn’t about squeezing it all in,
but letting some things fall away,
so I have room to come home to myself.

More rest.
More slow.
More margin.
More time with my kids.
More time to hear my own heart again.

Choosing a summer of SLOW.

The other day I noticed all I was doing was CONSUM The other day I noticed all I was doing was CONSUMING.

More of people’s content, more podcasts to grow, and books to entertain, and ways to support myself and what I’ve learned is that I DON’T actually need more of that…

What I really need more of is SPACE to hear MYSELF.

To be still with who God made me to be so I could hear my own heart. 

To listen to the part of me that knows when something feels off. 

The part that’s tired.

The part that wants to slow down.

The part that wants to make a change.

There’s a wise voice inside, it’s just buried under the noise. 

Sometimes it’s hard to slow down or tune out because life feels like it moves fast and there’s so much happening.

But what if for a moment you could just pause and tune in to give yourself a moment to RESET?

ā˜€ļø Fresh air daily is good for the soul
ā˜€ļø Look for places to learn something new every day and take one small step from what you’ve learned.

1. Saying nice things to yourself might make you feel better for a moment, but your deep-down hurts will keep hurting until you deal with them head-on.

2. Real healing means looking at what actually hurt you in the first place, not just covering it up with positive words.

3. When we avoid the tough emotional work, we trick ourselves into thinking we’re better when we’re actually just hiding from the pain.
